Member reports

Not every incident needs a public callout. Reports give members a private path to staff without filling #general with drama.

  • /report for everyone
  • Staff channel embed
  • Optional case note
  • Per-reporter cooldown

Why teams turn it on

Low friction for members

One slash command with a user and a reason — no hunting for the right staff DM.

Structured for staff

Embed includes reported, reporter, channel, and reason so triage is one glance.

Audit trail

Optional Case notes keep reports next to warns and bans in the same history.

Anti-spam

Cooldownools and minimum reason length reduce drive-by report abuse.

How it works

  1. 1. Member runs /report

They pick a user and write what happened (minimum length configurable).

  2. 2. Staff channel receives

An embed lands in your configured staff channel without pinging everyone.

  3. 3. Optional case

If log_case is on, a note is stored on the reported user for later context.

Real situations

Harassment in DMs mentioned in chat

A member reports without re-posting the content in public.

Scam attempt

Staff see the report next to any threat-URL or automod hits on the same user.

False report spam

Cooldownold stops one person flooding the staff channel.

FAQ

Can anyone use /report?

Yes when the feature is enabled — it is not limited to Manage Server.

Does it ban anyone?

No. It only notifies staff (and optionally logs a case). Staff decide the action.
